KidZui

Website: kidzui.com

KidZui is a web browser for young children that allows plenty of safe browsing of parent-reviewed sites and some social networking. It was designed for use by 3-17 year olds, although realistically, is more suited for children to age 10. Children create their own 'Zuiis' (cartoon-like avatars), which become their login identities and can communicate with other Zui account users, sharing favorite sites, games, etc. No personal identification is ever divulged online and parents can monitor activity on each child's account whenever they wish. This tool could be used for safe, independent exploration of the internet for youngsters with more than 600,000 approved pages to date.

More options are available in creation of Zuiis with subscription accounts which start as low as $4.95 a month. Though not developed with special needs in mind, developers have found that the site appeals to those with disabilities because of the visual nature of the browser and ease of use.
