Sign Smith Studio is a sign language authoring tool for use by educators, software developers, and video producers. The program uses signing avatars to reproduce sign language for use in video, software, and classroom applications. Students of sign language can use it to reinforce their skills. Teachers can use it to create assignments for deaf students in the language with which they are most fluent and comfortable. The software is available for a 30-day trial and then for purchase either through a download or a CD with accompanying software license. There is a product demo on the website that shows step by step how to create an avatar that uses sign language. The demo shows how facial expressions can be added to make the avatar more realistic. This is a wonderful tool for anyone who wants to produce software, videos, or computer assignments for people who need or want sign language to access content.
