PBS Kids Webonauts Internet Academy

Website: pbskids.org

Webonauts Internet Academy is a game from PBS KIDS GO! that gives kids 8- to 10-years-old a chance to have fun while exploring Internet safety and responsibility. Kids will find that it is an interesting interactive experience as they design their own avatars and must complete a mission using the concepts of identity‚ privacy‚ credibility and web safety for success. Kids can read the directions and/or have them read aloud by clicking the audio symbol. Children will enjoy the adventure game and can print a certificate of completion after a successful mission. A section for parents and teachers suggests how they may use game play as a basis for conversations about media literacy and citizenship in the 21st century, both on-and off-line within the family or classroom.
